My chosen charity is UCL Cancer Research. My mum battled two types of cancer last year, breast and lung and luckily for us she survived both all thanks to the quick detection by her doctor down to the drugs and therapy’s she was treated with. I can only thank the scientists and doctors who spent their valuable time discovering treatments to make this possible and in order to give back I want to spread the word to gain more attention and funds.

Every year millions of people in the UK lace up their trainers and take part in running events all over the country, many of them raising money for charity.

But just how much could each runner raise with Give as you Live?

Charities we work with are always curious to know how other organisations in the sector are performing online. From emails to social media, our team have struggled to find benchmark data across the sector that shows the latest trends in digital marketing and fundraising.

This is why we are launching the Digital Giving Review 2012 with the Institute of Fundraising.

We are asking all UK charities to take part in our short survey, allowing us to gather data to uncover the true trends in digital fundraising.

• Results will be announced at the IoF Conference in July 2012.
• All those that participate in the survey will be able to benchmark their results against the overall survey results.
• The survey takes minutes to complete and all responses will be kept confidential.
• All published data will be anonymous.

Give as you Live is delighted to be supporting our friends at the FSI, with ‘Small Charity Week’, which kicks off on Monday 11th June 2012.

We attended the launch of Small Charity Week yesterday evening, where we met many small charities including Media Trust, The Pirate Castle and BIGKID Foundation as well as journalists who will help to promote the Week.

The idea behind ‘Small Charity Week’ is to grow the awareness of the UK’s many small charities, which work to right a wrong that exists in the community they serve. Many of these organisations grow from an individual or group of people committed to doing good, and lack the support and funds that bigger charities can have access to.

Give as you Live is supporting the Week, and communicating our message to small charities: that just 100 shoppers, shopping through Give as you Live, can raise a whopping £3,000 for your charity in a year.

Give as you Live is offering further support to small charities, with an added fundraising initiative. As soon as just 25 shoppers sign up to support a charity, and spend £10 each online, Give as you Live will give an additional £5 per shopper to the charity.
