There were many people shopping last week, at a variety of different Give as you Live stores. But a select few shoppers raised considerable donations for their favourite causes.

Buying a laptop online, taking out a new mobile phone contract, renewing your insurance… All of these things, when done online, can make a difference to charity.

Here are our top 5 donations this week

1. £25.30 raised for Compassion in World Farming at Dell.
A donation of just £25 helps Compassion influence those in power to prevent animal cruelty and change attitudes to farming and food production.

2. £25 raised for RNLI at O2 Shop
The RNLI is an independent charity, funded by voluntary donations and they provide 24-hour lifeboats and seasonal lifeguards dedicated to saving lives at sea. Just £16 donated to the RNLI pays for a pair of hard wearing, waterproof gloves that are vital safety equipment – so keep on shopping.

3. £24 raised for Children with Cancer at TalkTalk.
This amount of money can help the charity make prevention a reality. It could fund one day’s worth of essential laboratory consumables for a key project, working on the development of a vaccine against childhood leukaemia.

4. £20 raised for Cystic Fibrosis Trust at RAC Breakdown Insurance
Cystic Fibrosis is one of the UK’s most common, life-threatening, inherited diseases. This money will go towards supporting the 9,000 people in the UK have CF, that’s one in every 2,500 babies born.

5. £17.46 raised for Cancer Research UK at Woolworths
Cancer Research UK receive no government funding in their research. For every £1 donated, 80p is spent on their work to beat cancer.

The above Give as you Live transactions raised a total of £111.76, and that’s just from 5 people shopping online. If you haven’t done so yet, download Give as you Live today, and make sure your charity is in the ‘top donations’ list next week!
