Beat rainy bank holiday boredom

With the May bank holiday weekend on its way, we are all hoping for warm and sunny weather. But, from the recent rain and April showers, the likelihood is that the weather man is going to be against us.

Instead of dreading a boring weekend at home, why not prepare early and get a plan in action to face the potentially grey days ahead.

Here’s my top 3 picks, and you can get ready by buying everything you need online!

LoveFilm 1. Movie Fest
Buy a selection of DVD’s and spend your time relaxing and eating lots of popcorn. LoveFilm is one of our retailers, so if you sign up with them online, you can rent dvd’s and games and return them for free in the post. They donate up to £3.75 for new customers.

Alternatively HMV are also signed up and can offer free standard delivery, or express delivery within 24 hours. They donate up to 2% to your chosen cause.

dunelm 2. DIY
Can you think of lots of things that need doing around the house, why not take this opportunity to get some home improvements done? There’s plenty of DIY stores signed up with Give as you Live, so you can get everything delivered and done without even having to leave the house. B&Q donate up to 1.75%, Homebase donate up to 1% and Dunelm Mill donate up to 2.5%.
toysrus 3. Play Board Games
A great way to entertain the kids and spend some family time is to get the board games out. If you fancy trying out some new ones, then why not pick up Pictionary family edition, Trivial Persuit for Kids, or The Cube. All of these you can buy from Toys R Us who will donate up to 1.5% to your favourite cause.

If none of the above suggestions take your fancy, then why not spend the weekend shopping online through Give as you Live. My idea of a perfect weekend! And think of how much money you would raise for your favourite cause, at no additional cost to you.
