Giving to Give this Christmas

You read correct, the title is not a typo, it is exactly what it says… this Christmas I gave presents to give to charity with Give as you Live.

As the old saying goes ‘You should not give to receive’, however what if you gave to receive a donation to charity, surely that’s an exception?

Anyway, enough of the riddles, here’s how I raised money for my charity at no extra cost to myself this Christmas.

First off, this Christmas I was mega organised, I had a spreadsheet with all the people I was buying for on it and budgets set, this made it easy to go directly to stores and get my shopping done within 1 week.

I highly recommend it, no crowd pushing, no stress of not finding the perfect present; I just sat at my desk as the postman delivered my gifts.

And what gifts they were, overall I raised £2.36, just by buying 6 things online at Play.com, HMV, notonthehightstreet.com and Zavvi, which are all Give as you Live stores.

Imagine if 200 people did this, it would mean £236 would be raised for charity this Christmas, just by shopping online. It doesn’t cost you anything extra, so why not?

In 2011, I raised £42.73 for charity by using Give as you Live when I shop online, it’s so easy and I don’t need to change anything I do normally, I just do what I do best and shop. Why not give it a go this year and see how much you can raise.
